Chris Machen

The Master’s Music Company presents concert and recording artist Chris Machen. Having spent over three decades in the field of Contemporary Christian music, Chris Machen has had influence as a singer, songwriter, publisher, dramatic actor, studio musician, voice over artist, choir clinician and worship leader. He is also an ordained minister.

The great desire of Chris’ heart is to serve God faithfully through his music. His ministry goals are to encourage the Church and reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which he has done for over twenty five years in a traveling concert and conference ministry with his wife, Diane.

Chris has recorded for Word Records, Urgent Records, Discovery House Music and The Master’s Music Company. He has appeared with such artists as Wayne Watson, Steven Curtis Chapman, Scott Wesley Brown, Larnelle Harris, The Imperials, Damaris Carbaugh and Luke Garrett. Chris has appeared on national television and his songs have been played on Christian radio across the nation.

The catalog of songs by Chris is over 400 and includes titles recorded by artists like The Gatlin Brothers, The Imperials, Luke Garrett, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Steve and Annie Chapman, Steve Amerson and The Talleys. Chris’ largest contribution to Christian music has been through choral print music. Choirs all over the world have sung anthems and musicals that he has written. Some familiar anthem titles include “Bow the Knee,” “God Is Able,” “I Have Seen the Light,” “And God Cried,” “God Still Moves,” “Wise Men Still Seek Him,” “Not by Might,” “To Him Be Glory” and “Crown Him.” Some of the musicals written are More Than Just a Man, Save in the Cross, Gift of Heaven, Bow the Knee, I Have Seen the Light, The Night the Angels Sang, The Power of His Touch, Journey of Hope, a children’s musical entitled, In God We Trust, and Chris’ brand new Christmas musical, Hope in the Heartland. Word, Brentwood-Benson, Lillenas, Lifeway, Shawnee Press, Hal Leonard and The Master’s Music Company have published songs by Chris Machen.

Chris also wrote the Broadway-esque musical Journey of Hope and performed the lead part of Simeon. He has sung on radio and television ads, directed choir clinics across the nation and has been the worship leader in major conferences throughout the country. Chris has also led groups from the United States in international mission efforts in Europe, the Far East, and South America.

Mr. Machen hails from Chandler, Arizona. He studied music at Baylor University and holds a Master of Church Music degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Chris has served as a minister of music and minister to students, and was ordained to the gospel ministry by Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas.

Chris’ greatest joy is his family.  His wife – Diane, Daughter – Jennifer and son-in-law Stephen Bush, Son – Ryan, and two beautiful granddaughters, Elizabeth Joy and Cecily Grace.
